Cleygaerd: A Unique Experience!

Welcome to
Cleygaerd!

We are Ron and Monique van der Kleij, and in June 2019 we made our dream come true by settling at the Bronsweg. Over the past years we've experimented, developed and stayed open to whatever came our way.

The garden now encompasses a small nature campsite, a tea garden that is open every week, a Brocante cabin where you can buy the loveliest vintage items, and a meeting place for children and their (grand)parents for Stichting Wortel — the Worteltuin.

Our Garden on the Bronsweg

"Lelystad's green heritage"

Our garden is situated on the Bronsweg, next to the Bergbos in the organic agricultural area of Lelystad, and covers approximately 1 hectare.

The garden was established in 1989 as a public garden by landscape architect Cees Vermeulen of Sophora nature gardens. In 2007 the garden continued under different owners as de Poldertuin.

With respect for the garden that was created and maintained with so much love, we have continued to care for and shape it.

Experience

Your natural oasis

Our garden has a park-like character with different atmospheres. Stroll through the forest garden and enjoy the soothing nature, or find a spot by the pond. There's always something new to discover and every season is beautiful. For the little ones there's a gnome trail at the back of the garden.

You can also take lovely walks in the adjacent Bergbos. Fancy something tasty? Pop into the Forest House with terrace. Here you can enjoy a wonderful cup of coffee or tea and a slice of homemade apple pie while overlooking the pond.
