Cleygaerd: a unique experience

Cleygaerd

We're Ron and Monique van der Kleij, and in June 2019 we made our dream come true and settled at Bronsweg. Over the past few years we've experimented, grown and stayed open to whatever came along the garden path.

The estate now holds a small nature campsite, a tea garden that opens every week, a Brocante cabin filled with the loveliest brocante and vintage pieces, and a meeting place for children and their (grand)parents through Stichting Wortel: the Worteltuin.

History

Our Garden on Bronsweg

"Lelystad's green heritage"

Our garden sits on Bronsweg, beside the Bergbos in the organic farming area of Lelystad, and covers around 1 hectare.

The garden was laid out in 1989 as a public garden by landscape architect Cees Vermeulen of Sophora natuurtuinen. In 2007 it continued under new owners as De Poldertuin.

With respect for the garden that was laid out and tended with such love, we have continued to care for it and shape it.

Experience

Your natural oasis

Our garden has a park-like character with different moods. Wander through the woodland garden and enjoy its calming nature, or find a spot by the pond. There's always something new to discover, and every season is beautiful in its own way. For the little ones, there's a gnome trail at the back of the garden.

The neighbouring Bergbos is wonderful for a stroll, too. Ready for something tasty? Drop into the Boshuis with its terrace, where you can enjoy a proper cup of coffee or tea and a slice of homemade apple pie while looking out over the pond.
